We are more effective and resilient when we work together and create a positive vision of a future without fossil fuels. Change a light bulb - OK. Build a Town Biogas Power Station that uses local sewage, food waste and renewable wood. Bingo!
Everybody is invited. Each of us has a part to play. Each of us has some skill to use or knowledge to pass on.
We will get more done, faster if we are having fun.
Transition is going to be more like a party than a protest march.
Encourage people to get on with it and pull together interested people and groups who want to change the way we do things round here. Whether it is local food, transport, housing, energy, environment, economic development, democracy etc. etc.
Disappear: the start up group’s job is to be the catalyst. Once Transition Keighley has some legs, those who have become involved will decide how to take on the next part of the journey: creating a Power Down Plan and running real Power Down Projects.
